ABOUT THE SERIES

Inculcating Values for Life

National Curriculum for Value Education [Classes 1-12]

The main Aim of education is the holistic development of students. This includes all aspects of a human being which are the personal, moral, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, behavioural, social, cultural, and aesthetic.

The Aim of the NCVE is to enable students to discover the deeper meaning of these aspects and to transform them into better human beings who will build a better society based on equality, justice, liberty, truth, peace, love, fraternity, brotherhood, and harmony. This curriculum lays special emphasis on constitutional values, fundamental rights, human rights, and child rights. This will motivate them towards purposeful living and responsible citizenship. As responsible citizens, they will be socially responsible, morally sound, culturally rich, with international understanding, and intellectually capable in a competitive world.

The rise in mental health issues among adolescents, the breakdown of families, increase of crimes, crimes against women and children, violation of fundamental rights and human rights, corruption, communalism and exclusivism, and the widening gap between the rich and the poor, gives further impetus for the importance of Value Inculcation for our students.
